Greenstone Group was approached by Reading Entertainment, the owner of a large block of land in Courtenay Place Wellington. Reading Entertainment contracted Greenstone Group to explore a variety of development options for this site. Subsequent to choosing the preferred solution, Greenstone Group was engaged to manage the development process.
The result is one of the pre-eminent cinema and entertainment complexes in New Zealand. The Courtenay Central complex rises over three levels and includes 3000m? of specialty shops, a foodcourt, restaurant precinct and 10 cinemas. The project has won many awards including an excellence award at the 2002 Property Council awards.
Reading Entertainment has no local property team and contracted Greenstone Group to complete the entire role. Greenstone Group managed the design and resource consent process, arranged finance and met pre-settlement conditions including pre-leasing. We managed the branding and marketing, signage, interior design consultants, leasing team, and concluded the leases. Via our Wellington office we managed the construction project management. We handed the completed project across to the client on time and on budget.
