Mauku School Administration Block

Mauku School wanted to create a new administration block, which included the extension of an adjacent classroom to optimise the space allowable under Ministry of Education rules.
Greenstone were engaged as Project Manager, prior to any designer’s involvement in preparing the proposed design concept. As a result Greenstone was able to secure very competitive design consultants fees. Through our vast experience we managed the design team to produce an effective design that achieved the schools desired outcome within the very tight budget constraints.
From the outset of our engagement, there was a particular emphasis on the master programme as Mauku School were due to celebrate their 125th anniversary, two weeks after the completion date for the project.
Greenstone Group worked closely with the school and the Board of Trustees (BOT) to ensure that the initial goals set, were either met or exceeded. On many occasions the schools BOT and management team expressed amazement at how easy Greenstone made the whole process which included managing the interface with the MOE and all statutory bodies.
In addition to the Project Management services, Greenstone Group also provided the budget estimating thus giving a seamless delivery process from concept to completion.
Although there was a very tight budget, Greenstone managed to execute the works in a manner that retained funds for furniture and other works that were on the schools “wish list”. The project was completed in December 2008 within the agreed project timeframe.
