Greenstone Group has been awarded the design and construction of the Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Puau Te Moana Nui A Kiwa new school premises. The kura was a community initiative to support families and their children from contributing Kohanga Reo who wished to continue a Kaupapa Maori educational option. As the result of the closure of Glen Innes Intermediate School, where it is currently located, the kura is working with the Ministry of Education to permanently relocate to a newly built premises on their present site.
The kura will be designed with an infrastructure for a roll of 150 year 1 to 8 students, along with accounting for the future accommodation and facility requirements. The new premises are to be funded by the Ministry of Education, and will no doubt become a valuable asset to the local community.
Greenstone Group were selected to carry out the design and construction due to their experience in project management, construction management and school projects.
